Developer‘s plans have been reviewed by various city departments and feedback has been provided. The environmental report was not provided by the developer, which makes an incomplete submission. The developer applied through “builder’s remedy” and “SB330”.
Please review the attached plans submitted by the developer to the City of San Jose. We are gathering neighborhood feedback. Please send us your questions, concerns, and improvement requests. We will provide feedback to City planners. We can influence what gets built next! Please stay tuned for a neighborhood rally before this goes to City Council.

Background: In March 2020, while the neighborhood went into lockdown, Oak Grove School District Board of Trustees issued a resolution to sell the Glider School property. In May 2021 they received 4 offers from developers for dense residential housing. On June 17th, they voted on which developer to continue working with: https://www.thetruelifecompanies.com. As of 1/20/2022, OGSD voted unanimously to SELL the Glider School Property. Our next stage is oppose the City rezoning. City Council votes will be in 2023.

We are collecting both online and paper signatures. Your paper signature is important to prove to the board that you are in their voting jurisdictions. We can also show the paper petition to the San Jose city council as proof that we are San Jose residents and have our voice heard by the City. Please send us a message if you would like to sign in-person, even if you already signed the online petition.

Share with your friends in ALL of OGSD's areas - this is a district wide problem. There will be future campus closures and what happens here sets a precedence for the entire district. Further, the current budget issues do not give us assurance that any funds from proceeds will be used responsibly.
